I'm about to take a flight on America West. I'm not a member of the FF program. Are there any bonuses for joining right now or should I use one use this flight to provide me miles on one of my other FF programs?
Thanks for your advice :)

You are much more likely to get an affirmative answer in the America West forum. Moving your question there.

Depends are what you other programs are. I believe the only programs that HP will credit a domestic flight is BA, but with heavy dilution due to BAs rules. You can credit to NW if you are connecting to some international flights.

The rule of thumb is "always sign up for the program to get the miles for your flight". I believe that there is a 2500 mile bonus for signing up and taking your first flight. Plus, if you like HP, you'll automatically have somewhere to post your miles.

1stAces,

A little more information would helpful if you want more answers. Where do you fly? How often? What programs are your already a member of?

I believe the only programs that HP will credit a domestic flight is BA...

You can also credit your flight to VS for 100% miles or to HA(depending on fare) for 100%.

good idea - especially mentioning that these miles and sign-on bonus will eventually find their way into US Airways Flightfund.
