American Express Membership Rewards - Best amex plat and black card in terms of value ,lowest threshold,benefits?

My opinion is uk idc plat and a tie between idc centurion and usa centurion. The new zealand plat is second because of spg plat and third is a tie canada with fairmont included and hong kong. The us plat sucks. :mad:

I don't really want to get in flame war about which card is better so I will just state the facts:

US Centurion is 10x better than any other card in the world. It is not just that it's benefits are 10x better, but also the prestige of having it.

In fact it is so good that people pretend that they do have it! :p

Seriously, to each his own blah blah, different benifits blah blah...how can someone really answer this for someone else...except to say the US Centurion OWNz j00 :D

Maybe, but there are other things in life more than 10 times better than a black pllastic card.

A good vacation with nice company on a Seabourn Cruise for example if you are a travel-in-style-addict.

I just wanted for people to share the cost and benefits of the various countries cent and plat cards. My ratings were based on weighing tangible benefits versus annual fee cost.

The 3 years extra warranty that comes on items purchased by the amex cent is a unique benefit not shared with any other country.

When did that happen???? :confused: As far as I know, NZ Plat don't have any hotel loyalty schemes attached. NZ don't even have a Starwood property...

I'd love to know more if you can point me to the right direction...

Personally, I think the NZ Plat charge card is one of the worst out there, when you compare annual fee vs benefits. While it's not all bad, there're a couple of very good benefits (and of course, that's subjective with your personal situation), this card lacks significant other benefits.

Better check to be sure. My Australian AMEX Platinum card use to provide Starwood Platinum but now only provides Starwood Gold.

NZ don't even have a Starwood property...
