I am trying to book 3 nights in Paris, either the Paris Hilton or ARC using the 601 reward certs in October 12-14.
But when I go through the website, it says there are no availability during that period basically for all hotels in Paris, it also tells me to call the Diamond desk to verify.
Has anyone any experience in booking reward stays with the internet showing no availablity and calling the Diamond desk Up?
I have been a Hilton Diamond for 2 years now, and its the first time doing any reward bookings. In the past I have always use SPG's reward booking, as I found it easy to book as a Platinium there.

I have been trying to book Hilton Sorrento for many months now on a reward stay but there never appears to be any availability. First time I used the Diamond Desk in Europe and they were extremely friendly and accommodating. They said they would contact Hilton Sorrento for me and would let me know within 48 hours. I, in fact, received an email from the Diamond desk an hour later saying that a reward booking had been made for me for my requested dates.

One of the significant benefits of Diamond status for me is that on at least 5 occasions when the regular reservations CSR said there were no award rooms available, they gave me the Diamond desk telphone number and every time the Diamond desk was able to get the room.

I just had the same experience online. Hilton HHonors website said Hampton Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor was all booked up for reward stays. Called the Diamond desk and they said they will "look into" getting me a room booked with HHonors points, but would take 7 to 10 days to confirm. Long story short, they emailed me a letter about 7 days later saying considering my DIAMOND status, they would book me using HHonors points.
Call the Diamond Desk!!!

thanks for the response, i will be calling the diamond desk asap.....
Based on past experiences, how late can I wait till I book rewards stays at the Paris Hilton? I am planning on going Mid October.
If I make a reward booking, can I change or cancel the booking without penalty?

There's no penalty for cancelling, as long as you follow the cancel policy, which varies by hotel. I.e., one hotel might require one day's notice, another hotel might require two days' notice, etc.
(The topic of this thread is a VERY well-worn topic on this forum, BTW.)
