Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Award Tickets Originating From KUL - Biz Class

Since the front cabins for the KUL-SIN / SIN-KUL flights are technically "F" class and there is no C class on these flights, is it possible to redeem a business class award ticket on SQ fom KUL to any destination ?

Should be able to (except maybe KUL-SIN but who would redeem for that?), but not sure what class you'd be put into for the KUL-SIN vv legs.

I had the same question last week and sent an email to KF and just had their response.

Basically, you can redeem on biz class for cities beyond SIN (e.g. KUL-SIN-SYD) but will be placed in Economy for the KUL-SIN vv leg. So, if redeeming, biz saver, you will be placed on Y saver for that short hop.

The other down side is that you cannot do this online. Can only be done offline and hence, forgoing the 15% mileage discount.

You get Y KUL-SIN, and you cannot do this online since it's a mix of I/X class. I've brought this up with the PPS club coordinator here and she's forwarded it on to SIN, but I'm not holding my breath. Still, it just makes it more interesting as in a way, I'd rather get the 15% discount and find my way to PEN/CGK/DPS/SUB myself first and originate the award from there since it's the same zone/price.

Having said that though, a one way upgrade say on KUL-SIN-SYD with a paid ticket in Y class, DOES get you F from KUL-SIN, C from SIN-SYD. You get moved forward 1 cabin. I've checked this out with SQ here and they all seem to be saying the same thing.
