One of my earlier threads touched on this, however, I thought it'd be useful to try and compile a list of all lounges that the Plat card will get you into. I wish amex would just print a full list! @:-)

I'm assuming that 'a plat charge card is a plat charge card' and the country of issue is irrelevant for this perk?? (correct me if i'm wrong)

I'm also not including those lounges covered by one of the country specific perks like priority pass in the uk.

The list should be lounges that you can access simply by showing the platinum plastic.

I'll start

Lounge Who Conditions
MEX (Centurion Lounge) Plat +1 None
EZE (Centurion Lounge) Plat +1 None
Any CO/DL/NW lounge Plat +2 Must have corrsponding tkt
Eurostar Lounge Plat +1 Must have Euro* tkt

N.B. List of all CO/DL/NW available at
Link (https://www124.americanexpress.com/cards/platinum/airportclubaccess.jsp)

Please correct me if any of the above are incorrect.

Can anyone confirm which BMI lounges the card gets you access to? Is it all of them??

I don't think it will get you into a BMI lounge unless the entry staff are feeling friendly, it's only for Centurion card holdaers (and BMI of course).

It seems as if uk cents and plats share many of the same benefits , but both are to superior to their usa counterparts. In regard to insurance and delay benefits the uk cent card and plat card are identical and have higher amonts than both usa cent and plat holders. In fact the usa card does not include luggage delay or travel delay it is in fact $19.00 dollars total for for both coverages per trip.
The only thing I don't see with the uk plat and cent card is warranty extension of 1 to 3 years please correct me if I'm wrong. It would be nice to make a compilation of benefits for all amex cards around the world in spreadsheet format. Because of this board I learned that the uk idc plat card is the best deal . :p

For UK Platinum cardholders you can access ALL bmi Business Lounges when you are flying with them. You may not bring a guest and you cannot access their (very slightly) better but less crowded Diamond Club lounges.

business lounges are located at:

Amsterdam , Belfast City, Brussels, Dublin, Teesside, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London Heathrow - Terminal 1 (both domestic and international), Manchester - Terminal 3, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

As a bmi gold I've never tried using the Amex card to enter the lounge - but as an experiment will later this week. Equally I'm unclear how they cope with non UK Plats but again will report to the list. as I'll ask them.

MEX has got 2 Centurion lounges, one before security, next to the International Check-point security and the other one in the international area, next to UA's lounge.

GRU has got 1 Centurion lounge in Terminal 1, A Wing, 2nd floor.

I'm positive that Gold Amex issued locally are welcome for each of the above lounges; Unsure whether Gold Amex foreign issued would also be welcome to any of them.

In my experience they have taken down the details from the card, so I guess it's possible that they might check whether or not it's a UK card.
