what's the check in process at LAX like with an e-ticket...any easier or just more difficult?
I've never flown with an e-ticket before, especially international. Any tips would be appreciated, including reliability with an e-tix, and check in time.

Exactly the same as with a paper ticket. Occasionally the e-ticket isn't set up right and cannot be found, so you should take your IATA ticket number with you to the airport (the ticket number is normally on the receipt that you were emailed when you bought the ticket). They can always find it with the ticket number, remember to have that with you. Checkin time varies by class, but 2 hours is typical and enough. I've made flights with less than 30 minutes to departure time, but that was in F and required an escort through security. Don't recommend much less than 2 hours for check-in.

Like number_6 said, as long as you have the e-ticket receipt/number then it should be no different from a paper ticket. However, I was informed by my travel agent that if you want to change flights or endorse over to other airlines or make any changes then it's slightly easier with a paper ticket. If you've purchased a heavily discounted ticket which doesn't really allow changes (or without a penalty) then this is not a factor to worry about.

Definitely take note of the eticket number. Had an issue with another airline where the record was not properly built (VCR field blank). Gate agent was not help. A supervisor was only able to help once I gave him the eticket number by converting the eticket back to paper.
