US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - how many earned miles for 1/2 a flight

I'm looking at a fare currently where the roundtrip GoFare is a tiny bit more than the one-way. I only intend on taking the outbound leg, and coming back via car with a friend. Looking at US's current 1000 status-mile booking toward status promotion (for roundtrips only), I'm leaning towards booking a roundtrip and abandoning the return. Question: do I forfeit either a) the earned miles on the return flight I don't check in for, and/or b) the 1000mi promo, for being squirrely like this? Thanks.

In reference to the OP's title of this thread, I hope you have a parachute. Only squirrely airline CEO's get away with a golden parachute after 1/2 a flight. :D
Of course, you meant itenary, I hope!
BTW LongingForPiedmont's answer goes for any leg of a multi-leg half an itenary.

Now, I have to quibble here. Given the airline industry's squirrelly nomenclature, one could take the first leg of a "direct" flight (as opposed to a non-stop flight) and thereby take half of a flight without a parachute. Or one could do a D B Cooper.
