US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Crediting miles - UA ticket, US metal

Here's the skinny - my flights were on UA stock (016) and the final leg was on US metal, LAX-PHL. The good news is that my upgrade cleared as US3. However, in doing so the US agent swapped my DM# for my MP#. Miles wound up posting to DM, but I want them to go to UA since I'm all over California these days and UA is much more useful, status-wise.

Does anyone have experience in "reversing" and properly crediting these miles to UA?

My guess is that the airlines would take issue with your word "properly." When you use your US status or miles to upgrade, you've switched your allegiance for that flight from MP to DM.

IIRC from reading the sticky about upgrading codeshares, there should be a spot for two FF#s in your PNR for doing just this type of thing. Or did I read that thread wrong?

I believe that's only when you're flying UA metal on a US award ticket. If you have status on US, the UA agent can put your US DM number in the reservation to allow you to select an Economy Plus seat (if applicable).

From what almost everyone has said, it is not possible to use your US status to upgrade a US-operated flight and then credit the miles to UA.
