Well right now I am in London and before I left Barcelona today (for the next few days) I saw that US Airways ticket counters and sales office set up in Barcelona Airport. I also have seen A LOT of advertising in the city of Barcelona and at the airport as well. Very exciting stuff.

I even took some photos  But I don't know where to post them. If anyone wants me to give them the photos they can provide a link to post them.

YIPPIE US AIRWAYS IN BARCELONA. First day there May 17th.

My brother (US Gold) moved there last November, we live 30 minutes from PHL, my parents will be flying out there next week nonstop!!! Let's hope they can use their 0087 Envoy upgrades on the way home!

If there was no US Airways, they would be stuck with a layover somewhere...

I have one word for you, ewwwwwwwwwwww. Why would you want to fly those ancient US Airways 767-200ERs with outdated Envoy Class seats to Barcelona? I mean, I would rather connect somewhere just to avoid that aircraft.

Well I have myself made connections to avoid certain aircraft types before but I don't think the US 767 is one of them - esp. if in Envoy....they're not the best, but on the other hand the service on the A330 is no better, so just better IFE and better seat. If I was flying to NRT, I would too make a connection for the A330 but not for a relatively short PHL-BCN trip.

Because it makes a huge difference in flying times. I will get to Barcelona now at 10am in the morning instead of 2pm in the afternoon and I will leave Barcelona at 12:30 in the afternoon instead of leaving at 8am. I rather spend a few more hours at home than on an airplane.

Yes the aircraft is a bit old but it is not dirty like the mainline aircraft. They actually keep their international flights clean. Yes the airbus 330 envoy seats are nicer and recline further but I am not sure if you can tell the difference in the seat cushion. The seats on the 767 are actually softer and have more cushion. The food is exactly the same. I can deal without the IFE since I sleep most of the flight. What is important to me is NOT having that connection in Madrid anymore. That was a pain.
