US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - milage run to CDG - upgrade chances

Hey folks
I am not a huge fan of asking about chances of an upgrade... you'd sooner ba able to predict the weather in my home town.

That being said, I have not flown internationally on US metal since I've been a US gold.
I'm thinking of a milage run to CDG as crazy as it sounds. I can actually book a ticket there and back en route to a domestic customer site and the price is not that bad (and expensable!).

I'm only going to do it if I stand a decent chance of an upgrade. I don't fancy sitting in coach for 6.5 hours there and 8 hours back.

Any thoughts?

You might get more help if you say when you're flying, what fare ticket you'll be buying, and what the loads look like for the flights.

A Friday night PHL-CDG is very different than a Wednesday night one.

You should be able to to get to LGW for less $$$ than CDG, so you might want to look there as well.

Good point... guess more info would help.
The problem is that at this point its all conceptual. I typically have to be places monday - thursday so I'm thinking about either leaving on a friday or saturday before or doing it at the end of the trip on thursday night.

I'm not tied to CDG- although I know a great pizza place in the 6th that I'd love to hit up... I like LGW too and its shorter (is it not?)

Why does the OP think that a MR to CDG is crazy?

I think that it is a great place to enjoy on a MR!
