Their reputation is pretty good, based on what others have told me (I have first hand experience of the airports and short haul but not of the TAP long haul product). Their "Top Executive Class" may have a lousy name but consists of "lie-flat" seats with around 60 inch seat pitch, and in-seat PTVs with large screens. Food is meant to be decent. Layout is 2-2-2 and the A310's have only just been refurbished so should all look pretty new.

The seats are similar to what NW have put in their new long haul Airbus fleet, and to the seats Lufthansa is now installing. Only negative from some is that, in "lie flat" mode, the seats actually have a slight forward lean on them.

LIS is an OK airport - not amazing but very close to the city centre (between 4 and 5 miles away). Terminal and lounges look a bit 1980's anhd can feel crowded. Lounges are fine (with free self serve bar) but not amazing. Transfers are easy as you just walk from one gate to the other. Duty free shops have a good range of wines. Beats transferring at a big hub airport like LHR or FRA.

The hop over to BCN should be a very quick flight. As with most flights within Europe, seating will be 34 inch seat pitch in a 2-3 format (try to get an A window or C aisle seat to get on the 2 seat side of the plane). Occasionally the A310 and A340 fleet are used for short hops like this between long haul flights, and obviously these are great if you can get them.

BCN is a great airport and very easy to navigate. The shopping there is amazing. No idea what the lounge arrangements are there (they will almost certainly use someone else's lounge).

Flying LH BCN-FRA in business recently, I obviously missed the "amazing" shopping.

However, LH use the Spanair business lounge (which is quite nice) and I expect TAP will also.

Don't expect anything in BCN. The airport is nice, has access to the train network but the lounge is rather basic. The LIS lounge is much nicer in my opinion. Seating in TAP is both in Y and C ok, the same with the service.
