American Express Membership Rewards - Just got amex green how long till I can get plat?

I just got the amex geen rewards card just wondering if I immediately pay the extra fee for the plat card.

It depends on your credit history. but I would wait 6 months

Amex likes to see 6 months credit history with them and 10,000 spend per year. Then you can call and request to be upgraded.

When you apply for the any type of Amex card there is a minimum income requirement. For the Platinum Card its $100K. However, when you request an upgrade there is no minimum. I don't even thin there is a spending requirement for the card, just having an Amex card in good standing for 6 months will do.

Since you are a Green Cardholder already, no matter how long, the $100K minimum income requirement is waived. Additionally, as far as I am aware, there is no waiting period. American Express will upgrade you the Platinum now if your credit score and payment history is stellar.

Thanks , my plan is to get plat get a card in uk or australia where centurion is lower threshold then move the foreign cent card to get the us black card. Only way to avoid new 250k spend policy.

Can you clarify please?

The min. spend to get invited for the black card in the us. In other countries it is substantially lower and then you can structure back to the us.
