I have a business colleague who booked a room at the Metropolitan Hotel on Sathorn Road.
He booked a hotel limousine transfer from the airport to the Hotel.
When he left the aircraft, he walked down the pier to the main terminal walk-way that leads to immigration. At that juncture (which is still very much airside and before immigration/baggage claim/customs), there was a man standing there from the hotel with a sign with his name on it. The representative took him to the Thailand Elite line (he is not a member of that US$25,000 club), took his passport, and sent him down to baggage claim.
The representative caught up with him in baggage claim 3 minutes later, handed the passport back, and helped him transfer his luggage to an S Class Mercedes that was waiting outside.
He landed at 10 PM and was at the Hotel by 10:30 PM.
Not even The Oriental (or the Peninsula) offers an airside pick-up like this.
I don't want to stay at the Metropolitan, but I would like to get this kind of service. Does anyone know of a private limo service in Bangkok that is able to offer this kind of service?
