MilesBuzz! - How long is too long for Kellogg's Certifs?

I know many board members are currently preoccupied with their painfully heightened moral standards... but hope someone will have time to answer this one: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
I sent two batches of Kellogg's certificates, one soon (day or two) after another. I have one set (500 miles) posted on AA on 04/02/2001, month and half ago, the other never appeared. Should I start worrying and calling AA??.. What's my recourse here, since they have no identifiable info on them? I have a photocopy of both batches, so the difference in my handwriting is the only ID...
Thanks.

I've always had my 500-point batches post within 3-4 weeks. I sent in 2,500 points about two weeks ago and had two 500-point batches post this past Monday. The others haven't posted yet.

My experience is that it sometimes takes 2 weeks, sometimes 3 months, but they all (20 sets or so) have posted. I only send 500 miles at a time so that I can keep track--one posts, I send another. If something goes wrong, I know exactly which set it was. I wouldn't worry about the April ones at this point.

Sasha, I'll come down from the moral high ground for a moment to report that I sent in 50,000 AA miles (in two large Priority Mail envelopes) to Kelloggs on 4/27 and they all posted on 5/14.

I've previously sent in several other batches and none took longer than 4 weeks to post.

The certs that I sent in Jan. 12 just posted in early May.

Thanks!
The moral is, it's never too late... I'll just have to wait.

By the way...

What's the deal with requiring TWO stamps on a standard envelope?

It's BS. It's to protect you from PO returning it. Except it never happens. I have yet to have an overstuffed letter return for additional postage. It makes so little sense to waste money on processing and returning it to earn 20-30 more cents. I never put extra stamps on anything reasonably sized and heavy even if the contents say to do so and threaten with dire consequences. Then again maybe that's why mine didn't post yet? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Anyway, there was a thread, I think on AA board, where somebody mentioned they actually took the letter to the PO and had it weighed - it did NOT require more than 1 stamp.

I have some that I sent in on 4/3 and only a portion of those have posted.
I had two other mailings
10,000 miles on 4/26
13,000 miles on 4/30
and neither one has posted yet.
Talked to Kellogg's about the missing posts, and they said that I have some that are being processed, but what is being processed does not add up to what I have sent in. My best guess is that they had a ton of these come in postmarked 4/30 that still have to be opened and processed.

Anybody have any post that they sent in on 4/30 or after?

I sent mine off on 4/30 and they posted about a week ago, all 50000 miles(although it take two days for the full 50000 to post).

Actually, I donated over 100 boxes of corn flakes. The other miles came from trading Delta miles for the AA certs

How/where?
Thanks.

My 500 point batches post on the average of about 3 weeks.

I have had no problems with Kellogg's posting the miles...usually 3-4 weeks.

Shasha,
They were trades made with someone else during the double mile promo.

I sent some of mine to Kellogg's in early February. Finally, they posted a week ago. Am still waiting for some to post.

On one I sent in 4000 miles worth together and they posted as 8 sets of 500 miles. Yet the other batch that posted last month posted as 4000 miles.

I sent in 5 batches on April 30 and they posted 5/18. I also have had them post lump sum (e.g. 2000) as opposed to multiple 500-mile postings, but it's the exception.

As for the postage...I took mine to the PO and had them weighed...they said only 1 stamp. SOME WERE RETURNED!!! When I went back, I learned its not the weight, its the THICKNESS thats the issue. A #10 envelope with 5 of the 100-mile certs is 'supposed' to have an 11 cent surcharge because of the thickness.

After that, I took them to the window (I go almost every day to mail packages for my business) and every one I mailed with 45 cents went right through.

Batches of 50,000 miles. (500 certificats at a time?). There must bean easier way than eating cereal for meals and having nutri-grain bars for dessert. How did some folks get so many? Am I missing other opportunities?

Look for specials on the cereal bars or cereals, use coupons. Here in Austin, TX you can buy the cereal bars and get free gas at the HEB grocery stores. Buy as many boxes as you can handle and give to local food banks, ask for a receipt, claim on taxes.
