Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - How to upgrade a LH flight to Addis

Headed to Addis Ababa for a meeting later part of this month and am looking for an advice.

I am a USAirways Chairman's Preferred meeting (highest tier) and will be catching a LH flight from Frankfurt to Addis Ababa. Was just wondering how can one upgrade that flight. I have a full fare ticket.

Does LH looks at USAirways FF tier level and can they sometimes do a comp. upgrade? Can one be waitlisted if seats are available.

Please shed some light.

Unlike some US based airlines, LH does not automatically upgrade elites on full fare. An op-up is possible, but shouldnt be expected. If you search the LH forum there are some recent threads on op-up experiences.
