My sis-in-law's friends works for Continental and says that Jetblue is coming to EWR. Don't know any routes but I would assume FLA Cities.

I would say that this is HIGHLY unlikely....

EWR has terrible delays and JBLU is interested in quick turnarounds. I just don't see it happening...

I guess time will tell

For some reason I remember reading or hearing from someone that jetBlue was going to fly to bermuda from EWR. Not sure why or where though.

I wish they would go to some cities in the midwest instead of building up more in areas they already serve well.

They have stated in the past that they have wanted to fly to Newark, but I think that this is nothing more then a rumor.

Yeah but LGA is even worse and they entered there to serve FLL. I think they will maintain their hub (yes I think it's a hub) at JFK and have one or two destinations from LGA and EWR. I think they feel its important to serve all NYC airports to remain competitive with the legacies and Song (ugh).

I wish they would come back to ATL...or catch on and offer service from CHA. Many of us living in ATL would be :D to drive to CHA if it meant 1)semi-affordable prices to compete with ATL, 2) Not having to deal with ATL security lines or traffic through downtown, 3) Better service from Jet Blue.

Are you kidding me? I thought that JetBlue topped the "late" airlines. They may be interested in quick turnarounds. They are not achieving them.

Well maybe if there were more people like you in ATL they could have stayed, but they weren't supported and got ran out, it's sad. At least they know when to cut their losses though.

There is a thread over on the CO board about CO making changes to their gate usage to ensure that B6 remains locked out at EWR. Specifically, if US folds, thereby opening up some gates for new service, CO would move their DCA/BOS service over to terminal A to go along with CHI, DFW and ATL. THe general theory is that they would add gates in pier A2 and force one of the other airlines they share with there (AC & AS & maybe one other) to move to the old US gates.

So the idea of B6 in EWR is nice, particularly as a CO flyer who would like to see some competition on the fares, but I wouldn't hold your breath on this one.

I can't believe that the PANYNJ would allow this to happen. I know that Continental has a monopoly at the airport. I also am grateful for Continetal as I live in Northern NJ. But they just built that megaterminal at EWR, so no one can use Terminal C besides Continental. Terminal B is packed with Delta and Northwest, plus all of the internationals. And Terminal A, which really needs a renovation, is packed to the brim with American, United, and US airways, plus some smaller airlines, like Airtran. If the Port Authority allowed this, EWR would receive minimal growth in the following years.

P.S. US and United I know use Pier 1, but do they max out. There is either 6 or 7 gates, which can't all be used. Maybe JB could get move in with United and make a no competition deal or something.

What is overlooked is the number of cancelled flights that Jetblue had. They would rather have a flight leave 4 hours late then cancel a flight, and if you live in the Northeast, you would have seen the horrendous weather we had.

Have you ever even taken time to think that about 98.5% of jetBlue's flights either begin or end in Boston, New York City, or Washington, DC, whose airpots experience horrendous weather delays this past winter?

As for service to Newark...it is in the plans, but only to Fort Lauderdale. Nowhere else.

I have heard MANY times that B6 will bring some planes into ISP also, to help fly us Long Islanders down to Fla...theres a TON of business here from NY to all Fla cities, and I think DL and B6 will keep adding airports and planes until we stop going to Fla all winter. :-)
