Has anyone any experience of Siberia Air? A friend has a BA return to Moscow booked by his company. The outbound leg is Lhr - Frankfurt on Ba then on to Moscow on Siberia Air. The return is direct to lhr.

Their website is at http://www.s7.ru/en/index.html

Is there a particular reason your friend needs to go via FRA? If not, why not take a non-stop MOW-LHR flight on BA or SU (which uses an A319/320/321 on that route)?

I'm flying them this weekend from FRA to OVB. I've flown them 30 times in the last 5 or 6 years. They get better and better with each flight and even have a few Airbuses in the fleet now though FRA to DME will get you a TU-154 which is the downside to flying Siberian Air. Feel safe though as it is a well run and maintained airline. Watch the baggage limit of 20k per coach ticket. They will "get cha" with the excess charges on excess weight.

I'm curious too why your friend has S7 as part of their itinerary. Lots of other ways to get to DME from FRA...

Thanks for the replies -yes curious indeed. Is there any inflight catering as their website gives no info on this. Also are they in the same terminal in Fra as BA? Presumably as it is all ticketed Ba his bags should checked through to DME from LHR so he shouldn't have a problem especially as BA is 23kgs.

I've never flown Sibir, so I can't say for certain, but flying Pulkovo LED-FRA, there was a full meal catered. I assume it would probably also be a full meal on S7 flying to Moscow.

Oh, yes a full meal will be served. This is not Delta. They'll actually start the flight with a trey of hard candy (nice touch), a drink service (juice, water, sodas) to follow, the meal (standard fare but filling), coffee/tea, and another drink service before landing.

S7's ticket counter is in Terminal 2 at FRA. Check in counters 952 to 954 are theirs. Not usually crowded and very easy to find. All in all, they have a very professional and easy to navigate set up in FRA. The ground staff speak English if that is a concern.

Should be pretty easy. Enjoy!

Standard type of Russian catering. Aeroflot, Sibir, Pulkovo all seem similar. Way better than what you get in the US over the same distance.

Afraid the bar stocks are often drunk dry, and the pax then open up their duty free's - it's Russia !
