I am 200 miles short of a 30,000 mile award. Any chance they will let it slide? I want to avoid spending $ just for the 200 miles and using 1000 AMEX points for this... Any other ideas to get a quick 200?

You can purchase 1000 miles for $25 (before tax) on americawest.com. Go to the "Frequent Flyer" tab, followed by the "Purchase Miles" tab. The Flightfund Dept will not make any mileage exceptions.

Actually a $8 lunch plus tax and tip got me past the 200 mile mark with FlightFund Dining for miles... with one of those 20 miles per $ special resturants... but Thanks for the ideas...
