This topic might be in the incorrect forum but since there are so many AC members who are also SPG members, I thought I would ask here...

It's tough getting old - I must be having amnesia (or Alzheimer's) but I'm trying to recall whether one can transfer airline miles (specifically Air Canada Aeroplan miles) into SPG points and, if so, at what ratio ? Additionally, for those who have done or thought about this, is it worth it ? I think gleff had a discussion of this at some point but I can't honestly remember...

Any knowledge of this type of arrangement would be appreciated.

No. No. No.

Again, no.

And in case anyone searches in the future, no.

YES it should possible. I say 'should' because I haven't gone just now to check it out, but Air Canada participates in Points.com so you should be able to move them to either American (if this exchange is permitted) or Priority Club (and then on to American) and from American to Diners Club and from Diners Club to Starwood.

The loss in conversion is so substantial that you will pretty much never, ever want to do this.

But a conversion of some kind should be possible.

Thanks for the reply, gleff. That's what I thought I had read a while ago but thanks for confirming it.

LMAO! I can't bring myself to edit my post above, I'll just leave it there as a lesson to myself that sometimes I should just shut up. Here and elsewhere.

But in my own defense, since the Diners conversion is so horrendous, I would never even have considered it an option.
