The W Hotel San Francisco has a new leader in house.
It is with absolute pleasure to present the recent press release information regarding the new General Manager of W San Francisco Toni Knorr.
For a number of frequent travel guests they may remember her from the Park Hyatt San Francisco prior to 2000.
Or her work with the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences and a multitude of other fine management teams in hospitality.
What I can say is that out of of my last 1,500 plus hotel nights across the globe over the past 10 years
Toni Knorr is one of the best things to ever happen to Starwood Hotels and the W brand in years.
A great match.
She set the culture and tone for the Park Hyatt brand in North America and brought service standards to a level I have only seen in select 5 star properties.
Her attention to detail in running operations is nothing short of legendary.
Congratulations Starwood and the W San Francisco.
First The Freddies excitement this past week and now this equally exceptional news.
I believe she will over time create service excellence to define the W brand as more then a sexy boutique hotel.
Most importantly lead her team to deliver that excellence along with first class personality skills.
Here is a manager that really understands lifetime value of satisfied business or leisure travel guests.
I see a great future for Starwood's W brand more then ever before.
Count me in to be returning back to the W ASAP.
The bar is about to be raised at W San Francisco and it is going to be exciting to see.
My expectations may be high.
But I have seen Ms.Norr in action in years past.
Welcome to the W brand Ms. Norr !!! Thank You Starwood.
All our future stays at W San Francsico are looking much brighter !!!!

Translation to the confused :)
There is a new general manager at W San Francisco.
And some may realize from my post that I think very highly of this individuals abilities. ;)
Sorry if my communication skills have left you confused.
I thought it might be interesting news to those that have stayed at the W San Francisco in the past or be thinking of it in the coming future.
Should this information not be of interest to the community however I would certainly consider removing it.
Cheers
I say leave it. It's obvioius that you think she is great ^ We always talk about how we wish hotels would listen to us and it sounds like this lady knows what we need before we think of it.
A very nice post IMHO :)

since starwood has apparently lost (the great) mr. sulzman of the W New Orleans fame, it's nice that HOT picked up a good one.

Thanks for the kind words of support all.Cattle you hit the nail right on the head.
She and her past team anticipate needs in advance.Very pro-active
The newspapers you prefer to read would be kept on your guest profile.
Not the ones they happen to throw at your door.
The amenity you prefer would be there.
She is one of the ultimate detail persons.
Years ago I did a survey and submitted it online and said I had a 99% perfect stay.
lol she called my guest room in less then 5 minutes after reading it and wanted to know what the other 1% was that could have made it better.
And she jumped on it.
Sure enough it was at 100% satisfaction at the end of the day.
The biggest problem I see with this kind of service is what your expectations become elsewhere :(
I was just about ready to delete the post for what appeared to be a lack of interest or understanding. As in
As you can tell I'm quite passionate about the topic ;)
I know that when I return to the San Francisco W I'd be surprised over time if it was in anyway routine.
I have always been a huge W product fan but with the exception of Mr.Sulzman and Robert Gormley W San Diego I felt the brand has never fulfilled its true promise. My hope has inceased ten fold.
Long after this post is forgotten the proof should be in the final overall day to day excecution.
Mr Sulzman was up there no question with the W brand in New Orleans.
If Ms.Norr can do what she did for the Park Hyatt brand I would say The W is going to be an award winning hotel for service that can compete with the St Regis or any brand in or out of the Starwood family of hotels no problem.
FYI Unless something has changed recently the information I had understood some months ago was that Mr.Sulzman will be back at another W property in the coming future at another location.
So while it probably won't be the New Orleans location I believe we will have the pleasure to see him back at a W or other Starwood property in the near future.Hopefully that news still remains accurate.

That would have been an inefficient decision, wasteful of the time spent preparing the original post.
Most of us express ourselves to be helpful, but each of us has different needs, interests, opinions, and communication skills. So no post could possibly have equal utility to everyone.
As long as the thread topic title accurately reflects the contents of the original post, participants can decide for themselves whether a thread is worth viewing and returning to.
My only quibble might be that you could have begun your title," New General Manager:"
Thank you for the information.

Appreciate your helpful suggestions.
Upon your advice I agree that this would communicate the thread more appropriately and accurately and have now done so

Unfortunately, editing the title in the original post doesn't edit it in the list of thread topics or the actual thread topic itself.
Only moderators can do that, upon special request, which wouldn't be worth it in this case.
Returning to the thread topic, I usually stay at the nearby Westin St. Francis. (I don't own a laptop.) However, this and other threads have certainly gotten me curious.

he was supposed to have transferred to the W Union Square in NYC but unexpectedly fell off the face of the earth.

he was supposed to have transferred to the W Union Square in NYC but unexpectedly fell off the face of the earth.
He can run but he can't hide !
We will find him and get him back at a Starwood property soon ;)
I will see if I can get any information on this if at all possible.
Was aware that W Union Square was a temporary move.
Thanks for the update though.
