Currently trying to book a stay at a Conrad Hotel for 4 nights. Looking at the rate per individual night, the rate drops twice, but if I try to book the 4 nights it only shows the high rate for the 4 nights, which will cost an extra $75 - for what? Usually I find that when there is an increase in the rates, this fact is highlighted and we are informed of the change. If I book the individual nights, would this cause any problems - would they expect us to check-out and back in again? Anybody had experience of this?

I have often run into this problem when booking on the hilton website. The best way to handle it is to call the hotel directly and negociate a rate that would be the same for all 4 nights but equal the total that you have found based on booking 4 individual nights.

I've had this happen a couple of times. While they may officially require you to re-checkin/out each day, if you tell the desk clerk when you first check in what happened, and ask politiely if they can help you with this, they can usually set you up such that you don't actually need to move stuff or anything. And, on the plus side, it will show up as 4 separate stay credits!

I'm certain that even if I book the individual nights to make the savings, this will only count as one stay credit and 4 nights credit. I'm sure it's in the rules somewhere - that's why people often change back and forth between hotels to get the extra benefit of additional stay credits.

You are absolutely correct. No extra stay credit will be given when one checks out and back in at the same hotel the same day - the reason for the "mattress run".

I have always seen the opposite, meaning they will show the price goes up from the weekend to weekday rate, but never it going down from the week rate to weekend. At that point in time they try to get the week rate. I agree with earlier call the hotel and if that does not work, book it seperatly and talk too them at checkin.
