Can anyone provide recommendations for 4 people from the city (4pts) to the airport. There was a great car service recommended for FCO and thought there could be one for this airport.

Thank you.

Whatever you do, make sure that you allow yourself plenty of time to get to Malpensa Airport. The Four Points is in the middle of the city and it takes well over an hour to get to the airport. Also, make sure that you or the driver service knows which Terminal your airline is at. There are not a lot of helpful signs, at least there weren't a couple of years ago.

Also, have you stayed at this 4pts before? It is not in the best of neighborhoods. We did walk around and felt safe, but just be aware. Our room overlooked the street where the transsexual hookers hung out. Quite the interesting entertainment for the night.

The hotel can arrange a cab/limo for you but will run about 90-100 Euro. There are very frequent buses from the nearby Central Station to MXP that will cost you 6-8Euro per person and take about 1 hour (even the cab will take you about 40-45 minutes). Take a cab to the central station from the hotel for about 10-15Euro. This is fairly reliable. There are two different companies that run the buses and you will get one or the other without reservations within 20 minutes.

The bus may not work if you have a very early morning flight. Ask at the hotel for a schedule.

The other option is to take a cab from the hotel to Cadorna station and take the Malpensa express from there. This will come out to about the same cost as a cab but will be faster if you time it right. Again, this is not suitable for very early in the morning flights as they run buses from Cadorna station before the first train. Google for schedule of Malpensa Express.

You could rent a car for one day, Sixti had some reasonable rates. Get it the day before to try the way out of town. Even with a good map I usually get the scenic tour of Milan. Otherwise, take the subway/taxi to the train station and take the bus. Runs frequently and early, unless you have some insanely early morning flight.

And just to make one thing clear, I did not know they were transsexual hookers.

We used the taxi last summer from Westin to Airport.
It was about 90 Euro and took 40 minutes.
We were consideringt to use airport bus, but we had a lot of luggage and we didn`t like to take taxi to central station and transfer all luggage there.

If one or two person travel with less luggage, I could recommend to use bus,
but 4 persons with luggage, taxi is not a bad idea.

The Four Points is less than a 10 minute walk from the train station. From there, you can get the Malpensa Express for 5.50 Euro per person. The trip takes about 50 minutes, but make sure you know which terminal you're going to, as the bus stops at the domestic terminal first and then goes on to the international terminal.

BTW, my wife and I stayed only 1 night at the Four Points, but we didn't find the neighborhood to be at all bad. We thought the service and rooms were excellent and the free internet access in the lobby was an added bonus.

thanks everyone...

Mike, I liked your qoute and since I'm only there for one night I think I'll try it over spending the extra points on the Sheraton... Safety is the main concern. Might also get a show without going to Amsterdam...
