Hilton HHonors - How many nights do I get credit for?

My first time using an award stay and I am staying on a GLONP2 stay and staying an additional 6 nights. Will I get credit for all 12 nights or just the 6 additional nights I pay for? Just wondering if anyone had any insight on this subject. Also, will I get my gold benefits for the entire stay? I was really hoping to be able to use the Lounge. Just wondering since it is my first award stay. Not sure of the particulars.

I would venture 12. I got credited with 6 nights when I stayed on my Alon stay last year.If they are consectutive then it will count as only 1 stay credit but 12 nights.

and use of the lounge depends on where you stay. Rome Cavalieri, Hilton Paris,and San Juan Caribe Hilton may not offer lounge access unless you are a diamond - or you may get lucky and get access. and while I don't know where the threads are, I recall some posters saying do the paid stay first then tack on the award for better upgrade chances.
