Any experiences staying here? Saw a valet fee of $17 after ressies were made. Upgrades?

I am not 100% certain that I am referring the same property... but I stayed at a Hampton in Columbus last year, and I think it was right across from an arena, and there was a parking fee, so hopefully I am referring to the correct location. Anyway, it was nicer than many full service Hiltons. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. And a good brewpub in walking distance (maybe 2 blocks) on the same street.

Enjoy,

It is nicer than any other Hilton property in Columbus. I bailed from the DT Columbus once I saw this place. Excellent location directly across street from convention center, short walk 4 blocks to sports arena. Cool shopping around the corner where there are tons of places to get dining for miles. That's the place to stay IMHO, suites are spacious and its only a 2 yr old property.

It is a nice hotel, but it's a whole lot less nice than the Hilton Columbus at Easton (10 mins from downtown).

The Hampton is in the Arena District, surrounding the Nationwide Arena where the Blue Jackets (don't) play. There's a Gordon Biersch brewpub around the corner. There's also a meat market called Frog Bear and Wild Boar, if you're into that kind of thing.

Nice hotel in a nice area.

If you have a conference or business downtown, the last thing you want is to have is a commute in foreign city from 10 miles out. Like we all have said, this is our choice as Golds and Diamonds downtown.

Instead of starting another thread with the same title, I thought I would just add another response.

We just stayed at this property this past weekend and had 2 night at the Hampton Inn Downtown and 2 nights at the Easton Hilton.

I have to agree with other posters about how nice the HI really is. The lobby is extremely nice and overall the hotel is much nicer than some Hiltons, Sheratons and Marriotts I've been to.

Were given an upgrade to a suite even though I chose the extra points option for the added VIP bonus stuff. There was water and a snack in the room. The suite was huge with a separate bedroom and sitting room. There was a TV in each room. The living/sitting room had a large desk, fridge, sink, microwave and pullout sofabed. The bedroom was very nice too.

All of the staff were very nice and helpful. They all seemed to be very young but were very professional and the lobby had a bell/door man in addition to the staff behind the desk.

The breakfast is on the second floor along with several meeting rooms, workout facility, swimming pool, whirlpool, and sauna. The business center had free internet and free printing (unlike the Easton Hilton).

So, I think this property is top-notch and worth every cent. ^ I forgot to mention that we had an $89 rate that was called an Arena or Entertainment rate. Since you have to pay $17 for parking/valet it was still a really good deal considering that the normal rate for a king suite was over $145.

OP back. We did stay HI Arena and found it to be very nice although as Diamonds, we were not upgraded. I attribubute this to the fact that we checked in rather late. More upgrades happen when we check in earlier.
A few weeks later we stayed at the DT downtown. Our room was amazing and the staff was great. Big two room suite and the bed was so comfortable. Next trip, back to DT and they said we had an upgrade. Same size room but with a view of the river. Checking out, they put in in our prefrences that we liked the first room better. Get it every stay now. Haven't tried Easton yet. It's so far out of the way.
All inall, our upgrades have been great (Reno suite even had a door bell, it was so big) except for the Hamptons in Columbus and we have stayed at every one there in the past few months. ES CMH last weekend was average room too.
