Hilton HHonors - Hiltop Dallas being converted to condos

No, that is not a typo. The older Hilton Dallas, then sold to a company who wanted to save money and named it the Hiltop and then the Hotel Santa Fe is being refurbished into condos.
I drove by it last night and a sign said that pricing would start at $300k. The back wings of the hotel looked like they had been torn down, but it looks like they are going to keep the tower.

That was a cutting edge building when it was built. I still think it is attractive allthough in disrepair. Last I heard the Trader Vics was totally intact with dishes and everything. Apparently hilton just closed the door to the restaurant and left it as it. Latter owners never used the space. I wonder why this hotel dropped off the hilton chain. Maybe location?

The location would seem to be a plus today, not sure what it was like then, but you couldn't have a much better one now with proximity to the CBD, SMU, and the Mockingbird Station development.
I am surprised they are keeping the eyesore of a tower; they will have to do a lot of work inside!
