Cell Phone Charger Fire Destroys Entire N.Y. Home

WINGDALE, N.Y. -- A Dutchess County family has learned the hard way never to leave a cell phone charger plugged in when not in use. Michael Hansen, his wife Connie and their 5-year-old son Mikey lost everything in the fire Saturday.

Never had any problems with my Nokia chargers getting hot. Must have been a cheapo Verizon phone. :D Don't think it was too brilliant to dump water on an electrical fire, but probably didn't hurt at that point.
