Interesting definition of bargain ... the LCC prices are approx 10% of the BA price (of course it is a worse service, less legroom, etc. -- but that is why BA has "slashed" its prices this much, and probably will do so again and again).

Yes - but have you ever tried to catch a LCC out on a Friday night and back on a Sunday, booking with less than a month's notice ? BA is 9 out of 10 times cheaper in these situations ....

Quite similar here in Oz; at least in these cases with QF you get your FF points and SC's.

Just assisted a S-I-L with an emergency trip MEL-NTL in 9 days. Cheapest was QF MEL-NTL Fri 29th, OT NTL-SYD & QF SYD-MEL Sun 1st.
