US AIRWAYS EXPRESS TO BEGIN NONSTOP SERVICE FROM ASHEVILLE TO WASHINGTON AND PHILADELPHIA
ARLINGTON, Va., April 11, 2005 -- US Airways Express will begin nonstop weekend service between Asheville, N.C., and both Philadelphia and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in June 2005, as well upgrade to 70-seat regional jets on Saturday flights to Charlotte, N.C.
Beginning June 5, 2005, US Airways Express will operate a nonstop roundtrip Asheville-Philadelphia flight each Saturday and Sunday on 50-seat Canadair Regional Jets (CRJ) operated by Mesa and PSA Airlines.
US Airways Express will also begin nonstop Saturday service between Asheville and Reagan National on June 11, 2005. The flights will be operated by PSA Airlines, using 50-seat CRJs.
Also on June 11, US Airways Express will upgrade three inbound and two outbound Saturday flights from Asheville to Charlotte to 70-seat CRJs, operated by PSA Airlines. This summer, US Airways Express will operate eight nonstop roundtrip Asheville-Charlotte flights each Saturday, as well as 10 on Sunday and nine Monday-Friday.
Passengers flying on US Airways Express’ Canadair Regional Jets travel comfortably in a quiet cabin equipped with large overhead storage bins, standup headroom, and reclining leather seats. Every seat is adjacent to either an aisle or a window. The Canadair Regional Jet has a cruising speed of over 500 miles per hour with a range of more than 1,000 miles, and can cruise at altitudes above 35,000 feet, providing US Airways Express long range regional jet capability.
