US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - New Blofare in the making??

Ok...so I'm checking some flights to PHL in May for 5/11-5/12 and 5/16-5/17 that are $628!!! I can usually get those same flights for $108. The lowest fare by price now is $208 then $428 then $608 and on.... This has just recently changed and I hope this is VERY TEMPORARY or I'm going to move over to DL. I love US but now it is getting personal.

$108 is a great deal for an Express market with no competition.

I know it is, but now that has changed, hence my rant....

I am looking at ABE(or PHL) to ALB in early May. Best fare is $800! I am driving. BloFares(TM) is the first thing that came to mind when I realized a reasonable fare was not available in that market.

It is amazing the extremes of pricing that U incorporates, either way too low or way too high. Just give the public a fare offering and good service and they will come your way.

Seems we have broken the code! Give it away PHL-PIT make it up PHL-ALB. Revenue Planing I believe is the department and Mr Nocella is the VP there. Write him and let him know when you drive versus fly because of BloFares! Be sure to include a copy of the quote off of the web site along with some toll and gas reciepts.

Venting on here serves little. A vocal minority can have a HUGE impact. A nice shade of Mauve lipstick will also make your point. Writing the letter with lipstick is a bit over the top I think.

Too many of the wrong fares (too high and too low and with no value proposition other than price associated with them) and too few of the right fares (fairly priced and linked to a rational value statement.)

Is it personal that the cheap inventory is sold out on the dates you want to travel? Should US make sure that cheap inventory selling out is always temporary?

The fares certainly changed in that market, the $88 S fare (totalled to about 108) is gone and there are fewer fares. I don't know why there isn't a T fare listed. It would still probably be sold out on your dates but it is weird that there are no T fares listed under search by price.

Don't get me started on BloFares into and out of ILM. I can often find FLL-LAS <or FLL-LAX / FLL-SFO> for way less than than a South Florida to/from ILM fare. Rational pricing, NOT.
