Great patisserie and cafe in Chicago's Wicker Park, with the best croissants on this side of the pond. Bernard Runo, the pastry chef/owner is truly an artist. (I know this sounds like a commercial, but this guy does amazing work and happens to be a buddy of mine and I just had to share his exciting news about Field's. :) )
