Air New Zealand Air Points - Newbie:Business Class LAX/LHR Lounge info

First time using ANZ (with UAL miles) and looking forward to business class. However, I am not well-versed (basically, ignorant!) in lounge use. What's the deal? :confused: Am I supposed to get drink tickets? Does one only use the lounge closest to departure gate if there are more than one lounge? In other words, I'd appreciate any and all information, and/or directing me to a site that may have this already listed. Probably will have more time at LHR on return, as well as using BMI's before I head off to Dublin from LHR. I've checked the ANZ site and really didn't get much from it. In LAX lounges services are a terrible mess. NZ utilise their own lounge, a NWA Lounge and a AC lounge. Many posters on this board will have their own idea's on which are best.

In LHR NZ use the UA RCC which is crowded, shabby and grubby however as a FlyerTalk member head directly to the SK/AC London Lounge situated just after the duty free area. It's bright and airy with a good view of the runway, but make sure you head to the upstairs part of the lounge which is divided into several areas - including a games room.

In the London Lounge and at LAX you can expect as many complimentary alcoholic drinks as you can stomach. If you feel like it do a full trip report [including the lounges] for the trip reports board.

No drink chits required (or tips) at any NZ lounges, or indeed at most lounges other than for some US-based airlines

Thanks for your info. I'll be traveling via LAX July 8, returning from LHR July 26. Would be nice if the new lounge is open. I googled and found some unimpressive reviews.
