And nothing says meat like the words "House of Prime Rib"
Yes, The House of Prime Rib. Home to the roving Zepplin meat carts. Ready to dock at your table for repeated slices of juicy prime rib.
Home to the table-side spinning-on-a-bed-of-ice salad bowl.
And if that isn't enough sensation seekers, I hear from my confidential sources that "The House of Prime Rib" on Van Ness avenue has got new upgraded steak Knives.
Now, your probably asking yourself "can I really handle that much excitement? Can I really eat that much and live to tell the tale? And is it really possible for everyone to go home with a new steak knife without the waiter noticing?"
Well with your fellow FTers by your side, you better belive it!
It's time to eat at The House of Prime Rib - So who wants in!

I'm thinking April, how does thursday the 14th ( laugh in the face of tax day) or monday the 18th sound?
I'll be happy to go on the most convenient date for the majority
As far as the time goes , we'll have to start early-ish due to the shear quantity of meat that we will be eating. Say 7pm?

A chance to eat meat served from the Zepplin von Beefsteak?
You bet yer Sirloin I'll be there - assuming no previous engagement. The 14th works, the 18th is doable, but a tiny bit problematic for me...although if it worked for everyone else I can make it happen.
For the uninitiated in the ways of HOPR, here is all you need to remember - "Henry the Eighth Cut, Medium Rare, Mashed" followed by (repeat as many times as necessary) "Another Slice, please."

Well so far the 14th seems to work for everyone who's shown interest (Ocn Vw 1K-is it good for you?)
So unless I've missed something ,lets say Thursday 14th of April @7pm.
I will add the date into the heading and start a list of people coming. So let me know folks if you haven't already said that the 14th will work for you.

It's about a mile and a half. Go out the side door of the lobby (not the one to the driveway) onto Battery. Make a left and walk a block to Washington. Make a left on Washington and walk about a mile and a quarter to Van Ness. (Van Ness will be obvious as it will be the biggest street you will encounter). Make a right on Van Ness and HOPR will be on your right.
If this is too far of a walk, other quick suggestions would be taking a Pine Street bus to Van Ness, or taking the California Street Cable Car from where it starts by the Hyatt Regency (Embarcadaro) to its end (a half block from Van Ness). The bus is USD 1.25 and the cable car is USD 3 (but obviously more fun than the bus).

Today I decided to make the reservation at "HOPR" and 7pm was unavailable ...so I had to make an "executive decision" and grab the 8pm slot.
Now I hope this won't mean that people can't come. There is a bar for us to hang out at and I would suggest that a cocktail or 2 before hand wouldn't be a bad idea anyway so we could still meet between 7and 7.30 for a drink.
Sorry if this screws anyone's evening up :(
I will change the heading on my first post to reflect the new time and could a moderator please change the heading on the community page to the new time.
Thanks, Tattikat2 ^

Oh Man, I am still digesting last night's feast! (and lunch left-overs). I like your thinking though, I tried Harris's a couple of years ago during the annual dine about town, and it was most excellent (and yes fairly expensive, but worth it!).
