Is there a way I can get an accellerated program to get Diamond Status. I got a new job that requires 80% travel and if they look at how many hotels I have stayed at for the last 2 months, its obvious I will eventually get to Diamond Status by the end of the year. I am currently Gold.
I guess I am looking for a program similar to the American Airlines Platinum Challenge for Hilton. And the difference is that I already am at Gold and not starting from scratch. I will be a good guest! I promise http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

To the best of my knowledge, NO
and frankly I hope they keep it that way - if youve got fold you've got everything but 48 hr room force anyway

The easiest way to get Diamond at Hilton is to sleep in one of their rooms for 28 Stays or (I believe) 60 nights.
I also hope they keep it like this, or increase the nights/stays - they seem to be giving Gold away on Corn-Flake packets now - but at least it shows with most of the properties, Golds will get the perks..., maybe, unless it is a DT property.

There is a promotion going on which is available to those that met the annual stay/night requirement for gold last year which is offering double stay credit for each stay duing Jan,Feb and Mar. At the end of the period the bonus stay credits will appear

That is not quite true, the offer of double stays was targeted and not offered to all Gold members. Posters including myself have spoken to various people at Hhonors and was told specifically they/we were NOT enrolled for double stay credits, it shouLd be noted that I had 18 stays in 2001.

Sylvest994: in this context 18 stays means 18 nights or 18 separate different stays. For example in 2001 we stayed in one hotel for 10 consequtive nights, but for most purposes HH countsthis as one stay.

Diamond VIP status requires 28 qualifying stays or 60 qualifying nights in a calendar year at HHonors hotels.

Really? I enquired about this and received an email with the following
"Since you met the normal requalification standards for the year-end of 2001, you will receive double stay/night credit for all stays in January, February and March, 2002."
Perhaps it's where I am resident or because of being a diamond member or something

It's my understanding that all Diamond members are enrolled in the double stay credit for the 1st quarter promo and only targeted Gold members received the promo.

Double Miles is not the same as Double Stay credit. Double Miles is open to everyone. Double Stay credit for the first quarter is limited to Diamonds and select Golds.

When did you make your status? When was your 16th stay? If I remember my letter correctly, all Golds should have gotten double stay credit if they earned gold status in 2001. You may just have earned status after they entered the codes for the double stay/miles. In any case, if you earned gold status in 2001, you should be getting double stay/miles for the first quarter. It would be worth it to call customer service and talk to a supervisor. Just because the correct code was not entered doesn't mean you don't qualify http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif It may just be that you qualified after all the automatic codes were done.

I think there are two separate promos here. I did gold by the EWRDC in the third quarter and had misc other stays in the fourth. My offer was double stays in Jan only. When I heard about the double stays for the first quarter I called and was told I got double Jan only. Two separate agents have confirmed this. Going by FT, however, other more exalted folks did get the double stay offer for the whole first quarter.

I obtained Diamond status in November and was targeted for the double stay/night promotion. My e-mail did say that I would earn double stay/night credit from January 1st until the end of March. The double stays/nights will be credited when the promotion ends. With 15 stays already this year, I am already Diamond for 2003. I was also automatically signed up for the double miles promotion that runs through the end of March as well. Those miles have been posting with out any problem.

Those who had earned their status with the FULL number of stays regularly required last year -- Gold and Diamond -- received an e-mail for double stay credit thru 3/02.
Those, like me, who did not meet the regular Gold/Diamond qualifications, only were to receive double stay credit for Jan/2002.

DOC 2 BE...not true!!!
I am a GOLD, and qualified BOTH ways (i.e., the EWRDC and via normal 16 stays). But...I did NOT have a qaulifying stay between November 1st and December 31st, so I get NOTHING!!! no double stays for 2002 at all.
This is according to the Email I just got back from Hilton CS via the hilton@flyertalk.com address.

You are CORRECT!! I forgot that little kicker re the stay during the last part of 2001. That stinks, they should have made an exception in your case seeing that you qualified the "regular" way for Gold -- which was what you had to do to be eligible for the 3 month double stay bonus.
Inasmuch as this bonus was a direct result of the drop off in occupancy as a result of 9/11, they should have been more forgiving of your not registering a hotel stay during that late 2001 time period.
E
Mar 8, 02, 7:34 am
Agreed! I wish they would have made an exception, since I DID have 4 stays in mid-October!!! And...I should have about 7 stays this first quarter, meaning I'd me much farther on my way to Diamond this year.
Think I should write back and PLEAD MY CASE???

YES!!!!!
Contact Adam and see what he can do. Since you had 4 stays in October, your not having a stay in Nov or Dec. is trivial, IMHO.
With 7 stays in the first quarter, you would have 14 stays with the double stay requirements, therefore approx. short 14 stays to Diamond. I can think of no better incentive to you to stay additional times at Hilton for the remainder of the year, rather than splitting up the remainder of stays among other hotel companies.
IMHO, it is not only the right thing to do, it makes good business sense. Remember, this is the company that thinks that it is appropropriate for them to "honor" $0 room rates!!
I think that your continued patronage should be worth something more.
Let us know how you make out!
Good Luck!

I know people are saying only Golds and Diamonds get double stays but I copied right from my email the following:
"Double Stay Credit Incentives Select Silver VIP, Gold VIP and Diamond VIP Members will also receive double stay/night credit incentives based on the following scenarios:"
And the scenarios are not the issue I am addressing. It seems to me if you got the email you are in if you are Silver, Gold or Diamond.

The issue I was addressing was "are only golds and diamonds eligible for the double stay promotion”.
The scenarios for double stay credit were if you were selected and qualified by nights last year then double stay credit Jan thru March. If you did qualify by nights but was selected and had one stay in Nov or Dec double stay credit for Jan only.
If you did not get the email the scenarios probably matter little.
I personally hate targeted promotions partly because I am rarely targeted.

Are the double stays showing on-line yet? As a Diamond (earned the hard way) I'm a little annoyed not to have received the email. I had 4 stays in Nov & Dec 01 and already this year I have stayed 11 times in Hilton's so the double stay credit would be good news for me. I would be extremely grateful if someone could forward me a copy of the email (minus any personal details of course http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif) so that I can address it with the HHonors desk.

Yes some exceptions were made by the nice folks at HHonors (including for me) but they made it quite clear that they were exceptions based on some previous misunderstandings/emails/posts. It was intended only for US residents but the word got out and they had to deal with it.

Let me guess. 60 nights at Hiltons would do it, wouldn't it? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Hey, just bounce around for 28 nights and Diamond is a done deal. Anyone here ever done 28 stays in one month?

I've sometimes seen this work: I have both a Hilton AMEX and SPG AMEX. Sometimes I will book SPG stays on the Hilton AMEX and visa versa... It seems that the marketing dept of AMEX and the hotel sometimes talk to each other and realize my business is going elsewhere.. so sometimes I'll get a good promo...
