MilesBuzz! - Do Multiple Rooms Ever = Multiple Credits?

The frequent flyer ramifications of purchasing more than one seat on a flight have been covered here. What about hotels? Do any of the frequent stay programs give you multiple credit (stay, night, mileage) for booking more than one room at the same property, same dates?

HiltonHonors will give you points for two rooms, but only credit you with 1 stay.

Hyatt will credit up to three rooms booked and paid for by a GP member.

I've had six rooms credited by Hilton before. ^

Marriott awards points on up to three rooms. Supposedly stay credit only on one but sometimes you get lucky :)

Make sure you comply with the fine print to get points for multiple rooms. For example, with Marriott, you get the points, but must make arrangements to have all the charges transferred onto a consolidated bill when you check out.

I've seen it mentioned on these boards before, so I think my experiences are relevant in that I have *always* had to contact hhonors after reserving and using two rooms to have them add the "extra" portfolio's points into my account. So don't forget to follow-up if you're concerned about points.

... and only 1 nite as well?

I should have clarified -- I'm only interested in the _status-qualifying_ aspects, i.e., nights and credits. I had assumed -- perhaps not so smartly -- that you would get credited for every dollar that went towards rooms, however many.

I sometimes stay in a Hilton "suite" that is really just two connecting rooms, each with its own room number and key issued. Maybe I could call after the fact and get this credited as two separate rooms x nights?

Yeah right, I suppose then I should expect a call from HH demanding I present another cert for the two room suite ( exactly as you described) I was upgraded to on an award stay at the Paddington two weeks ago.

I think the operative term here is room folio. If you're in a suite, you would still only have one folio for the suite.

I had previously asked SPG and they said they will credit up to two rooms per night (stay credit and points).

About a month ago I was traveling with a colleague and I booked both rooms under my SPG number and I paid for both rooms under my room folio. Sure enough, I received both points and stay credit for both rooms for two nights (4 nights stay credit total).^

I'm an Interconti Priority Club Plat member, I've registered as many as 17 rooms and routed appropiate points to my PC number. I only get 'nights/stays' for my personal room but points and gold or plat bonus for each room.

If you're doing it just for the points and/or stay credit (and don't need the additional room for guests traveling with you), many people, myself included, have booked "phantom" stays at lower-priced Hyatt properties and used 1-800-CHECK-IN to register.

For example, the Woodfield Hyatt in Schaumburg, Illinois usually has some cheap weekend rates that count for stay credit. You can be thousands of miles away and still do a mattress run here or at any other Hyatt, thanks to phone check-in.

I booked two rooms at the London Hyatt later in the month. I booked both online with my Hyatt account and am paying for both. Is there anything else I need to do to assure credit? Thanks.

Take a look at Hyatt.com to find out. I've never "stayed" here myself but other FTers have told me it's one of the cheaper Hyatts on weekends.
