Hi, I have a stay coming up at the HGI Bloomington, MN and wanted to see if anyone has stayed there and if it's a nice hotel. My usual hotel the ES Bloomington is booked out so I have to stay here. Any info would be much appreciated.

It's your basic HGI. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I'll also add that it's pretty nice as far as these cheaper hotels come as it's only a few years old. The internet service works well.
Given the choice of this hotel and the Hilton MSP airport, I'd choose the HGI Bloomington.

Thanks for the Info guys. I will prolly go check it out this week as I'm still at the ES bloomington this week. Free IA will be nice as i've been paying for it at the ES.

I've never had problems so bad at a Hilton family hotel that I walked out of the hotel. Some minor problems the 1st night, but the real problems came when I went back to my room the 2nd night. The room was never cleaned. When I went down to the desk the clerk didn't want to do anything. Mad I went back upstairs and booked a room over at the ES Bloomington. When I came back down to the desk I was informed he could offer me sheets and towels so I could make up my room! I told him no way and that to check me out and not charge me for that night. He didn't want to deal with issues that some other persons had either.
I will say that the GM called me back (I left a message with HH guest services) and was so shocked at what had happened he comped my room for the 1st night and called the ES and had them credit me for the 2nd night and bill the HGI instead. He has offered that next time I'm in town I should stay as his guest.

Roberts,
Let me know how it goes. I am coming into MN 6/19-25 (am usually there monthly or so for about a week) and usually stay at the Doubletree Park Place, which I LOVE. But this time am having real issues with their pricing (and failure of the sales staff/manager to be willing to help me come closer to a price that my clients will not choke over) so am looking at other properties. The HGI in Bloomington is one I am considering.
Although after dealing with the DT folks today I may just go with a starwood property. It was rather an ironic day of receiving an invitation from starwood to the managers reception (yes I realize as a Gold we all are open to the receptions) but have never gotten a call inviting me before). I will be staying in Atlanta next week at a sheraton there merely because they are attached to the building my client is in. This is my first stay at a Starwood property and already they volunteered to immediately make me a Gold Preferred (instead of me starting at grunt level) and have gone out of there way to get my business. While I still would prefer to stay with Hilton, the starwood service vs the BS I just got from DT has me considering new loyalty! :(

I was happy with my stay. Nothing bad and nothing spectacular either. I will say I prefer the IA (wired) at HGI better than at ES (Wireless) as I would get the nicer corner suites but IA there was horrible at times due to where you were in the hotel. I would stay at the HGI again if the ES wasnt' available but the ES was my preferred hotel as they all knew me and the breakfast was MUCH better.
