Air New Zealand Air Points - Sydney-Dunedin Fares

I am looking for flights to Dunedin from Sydney around April 10. All fares seem to be at least $450. Are fares generaly this high on Air New Zealand? Do you recommend any low fare carriers to look at? I tried Freedom Air and there is no availability.

Your choices are limited to Air NZ, Freedom Air, Qantas or Virgin Blue. In most cases you are going to have to go via Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch which will add to the cost. I think only Freedom Air fly direct. Can you change the date of your flight?

No. I'll only be there around that time. I may just stay in Sydney since the prices are so high. I can always go another time.
