Why doesn't anyone use thier miles? :)

I was sitting on over 2 million at one point...started to give away a lot and fiancee that lives in GDL :p eroded my account down to just over 1 million.
I also have at least 100k in each of these airlines: CO,NW,AA and QF :D

90,000 - and I use my miles all the time for last minute flights. You can get some great value routes at the last minute. I just wish they did bookings like Northwest - at NWA if you have two mileage categories, they charge you the average miles needed, not the top miles needed. HP charges the top value if it's a combined value/top value booking.

Neither of us travel for business anymore so they're harder to come by these days. Considering blowing them on a BA trip to South Africa after I accumulate a few more.

Only 31k. I'm trying to hit 35k for a SJO reward trip. I would have been there last year, except for their reduction of Gold bonus miles. I no longer has status, so it's just 1500 miles for short Phx-LAX trips.

I just cashed in a very last minute award that would have run me $350+ for 15,000 miles.

I know it makes sense, but it was so hard to see my account drop instantaneously from 95k to 80,000 and change. :(

Yeah, back in Feb I blew 20k in miles upgrading a woman I'm now in the process of breaking up with.

Lesson learned: Keep girlfriends in Y.
