I found one way fare from ORD to LAS on 6/18 at 8:21 a.m. for $99.20 including tax. Does anyone know of a cheaper flight or is this a good fare. My date and time is flexible.
I am planning on returning 6/24 into Rockford, IL on TransMeridian for $89 + tax.
Any help is much appreciated!

the rep did say the plane was very empty and so I was wondering if I could find better ro hold out for a deeper sale...so i assume in your opinion, I should book now and avoid losing that fare?? Do they ever have any coupon's or discounts?

Book it; it won't get it any better. They won't lower fares based upon the load on a particular flight on a particular day.

Every now and then a $69 fare appears. That flight will be full by departure time.If you like that flight, just buy it.

Is that a $69 one way fare? What I really wanted was a flight in and out of rockford (In laws live there, thus no parking, hotel, ect.), but could not work out the dates/cost to justify the cost of the flights in Rockford. Soooo, what I decided to do is fly out of ORD on Saturday 6/18 and fly back into Rockford on Friday the 24th and avoid taking the bus from ORD to Rockford on the return trip. Basically, I am open to any date/time, just looking for the cheapest flight to and from LAS.

Sometimes they do have a 69 + tax one-way fare but I wouldn't sit around and wait for it.If you like the timing of the $89 flight , grab it.As I said before, that flight will fill up.Also, that flight tends to leave ontime, as opposed to the other HP Las-Ord flights.

Everyone was a novice once.
HP is the 2 letter code for America West.
In my previous post I meant to say Ord-Las not the other way around.

HP = Hawaiian Pacific, the airline America West bought their rights to operate from, IIRC.
On Channel 9, you can hear the HP flights referred to as "Cactus", a more representative title, perhaps.

"Cactus" is the moniker for Southwest.

No, Cactus is HP. Southwest goes by Southwest.
HP came from Hughes Air West (as in Howard.)

Right. I do wish that HP would allow something similiar to Channel 9 on UA. Whenever I fly UA I listen in for "Cactus" flights just to see what's happening.

To chime in with what everybody else was saying... Book it! It won't drop much lower, and if it does, you can always call in and ask for a reissue and voucher between the two differences in price (although the Transporation Voucher [issued in amounts greater than $25] is not valid for accruing FF credit).

thanks for your input...in a matter of no time the price went up $5....booked it, but a bit to late, but maybe not too bad if it keeps going up as they sell the seats.

what is meant by issuing a voucher for atleast $25? If the flight goes down say $20, will they not issue a credit?

No, no credit on a nonrefundable fare. HP and I'm sure other carriers as well, will issue a GAF (Guaranteed Air Fare) voucher for the difference. The catch is that the itinerary must be repriced exactly as it was booked. If the fare is less, GAF voucher is on the way. But no cash credit to the credit card.

Not all of them. I know from expensive experience that Hawaiian Airlines has no such policy.

Wow, thats interesting! So HP codeshares with HA...if the ticket is purchased on HP stock, we issue the GAF. If it was issued on HA stock, I guess they don't. Hmmmm...

Hawaiian definitely does not. You would probably know better what HP would do in this kind of situation with a ticket for travel on a code-share partner.
If this is true, if you're looking at an expensive ticket (like $600-$800) for travel several months out and the price is relatively equal between HP and HA (a potentially big assumption), you'd be better off purchasing from HP and getting a GAF when the fare drops, which they almost always do in the case of HA. I don't know the degree to which HP's pricing follows the curve of HA's. If travel from mainland to HNL in October is pricing at $800 now and it drops to $350 come July when all the current sales expire and the new ones are released, will HP's pricing closely correlate? I gave up on HP's code-share pricing early on because of the ridiculous spread between the two. Perhaps they've they've closed that gap and this is a strategy worth some exploration.
