I need 23K more UAL miles to take the family to Hawaii. I have several Southwest award tickets. Are there sites that facilitate a trade like this?

What i'd suggest is for you to spend some time reading various posts in the United Mileage Plus forum. I think you'll find that the members there are highly knowledgeable of that program and you're much more likely to learn there, how to add additional miles to your MP account to meet your goals, thus leaving you with the SWA tickets to use personally at a time of your choice.
The Mileage Plus forum is listed in "Airline Programs" in the listing for forums underneath this forum on the main page.
23,000 miles is really quite easy to earn from MP, i think you can easily earn 20,000 bonus miles just with a recent credit card promotion they have been running. Again, all this will be talked about in length in that forum.
