MilesBuzz! - upcomig trip on Malaysia Airlines - what's the best way to stop orphaning of miles?

I've tried my best to get all my Japanese partner's flights on just 2 FFPs, but there's an upcoming flight from NRT-LHR on MAS and I'm wracking my brains on where to put the miles.
He has: Alaska Air and BMI FFPs.

The upcoming trip will net him about 13,800 miles (he's in H class so only 70%)

I suppose one of my questions is: are there any airlines partnered with MAS who will allow you to make a one way redemption? The other is: would any of MAS' partners allow 100% on a H fare?

I was prepared to pay a £100 premium and get him onto a TG flight instead (crediting to the BMI program), however, TG are changing their rules on the 1st June so that V & W codes will no longer qualify for mileage :td: , so I don't want to pay the extra and run the risk of getting nothing for it from BMI :( .

The other thing I'm worried about with NWA (as a possible home for these miles) is that they foist you off onto KLM the moment you move to Europe (something he will be doing next year - I've already lost a good few miles when they did this to me as nobody can trace them)

If anybody has some advice on how best to care for and love these forthcoming MAS miles (it's a 25 hour trip each way) I'd be very grateful.

It doesn't matter how many hours I pour into getting to grips with the minutiae of FFPs - I'm still clueless.

NW is fine; he doesn't have to move to KLM. He can just leave his mailing address with NW at someplace in their territory.
