Trying to get some premium economy tickets on Air NZ is proving a little difficult. Normally fly Qantas but I don't want to sit in Qantas economy for 12 hours, and the person I am travelling wants to accrue UA points.
As Air New Zealand have released premium economy to the market via a press release thought I would start doing some enquiring. Got the dates in mind I am looking at flying,
Ring the travel agent they tell me that Premium Economy is not available just yet,
Ring Air NZ, first get through to an agent after about 5 minutes that handles domestic and Trans Tasman, so get transferred to an international consultant, another 10 minute wait, well the agent is rather helpful gives me some prices and how to book it.
As AKL-SFO-AKL is the only route for premium economy then I have to book BNE-AKL-BNE as one ticket in economy and then AKL-SFO-AKL as another ticket in Premium economy. Not a problem as I want to spend a few days in Auckland on the way back.
Well ring the travel agent back to tell them the dates I want to travel, SEPT-30 and return Oct 19.
Well travel agent says I need to be waitlisted for the Oct flight, I am thinking, what these have only gone on sale in the last week and it doesn't seem anyone knows anything about them.
Are they still trying to work out what to offer or would the seats be genuinely be full.
How is UA going to calculate the points on Premium Economy and if I join Air Points how many points do you get for it.
The last 2 questions may have been answered by I don't venture in here, so sorry if its already been answered somewhere else.
