Is 12A (exit row) a good seat on the US Airways Express CRJ 700? Any comments?

You get off first. wahooflyer Mar 13, 05, 4:58 pm Don't expect any hot towels or warm nuts on the CRJ-700...not even if it had an F section. ;) EnvoyBoy Mar 13, 05, 6:05 pm Don't expect any hot towels or warm nuts on the CRJ-700...not even if it had an F section. ;) Sadly, don't expect either on any US domestic aircraft. :( bofie Mar 13, 05, 6:12 pm I avoid these little things like the plague. I'd sooner connect (or fly AA) than spend more than 60 minutes on one. I'd rather fly a DASH 8! wahooflyer Mar 13, 05, 7:14 pm I'd rather fly a DASH 8! So would I! The Dash 8's seats are relatively roomy compared to any of the RJs, although they don't recline (usually not a problem for the < 60 minute flights that the Dashes are used on). HPTunco Mar 13, 05, 7:47 pm I don't recall that there is an exit row on this plane......... JAaronT Mar 13, 05, 8:47 pm To answer your question, the exit row is a very good seat. The padding is a bit thin, but there is essentially a row of seats missing in front of you, leading to a mile and a half of legroom. There are tray tables in your armrest, but also in the seat in front of you, and there's more than enough room for you and your seatmate to get out of your seat with the tray tables down. I'd stay away from the window seat, though--there's no outside armrest whatsoever. The CRJ-700 is leaps and bounds more comfortable than the -200. The floor is lower, so you can actually see out the windows and I can stand upright in the aisle (I'm 6'4"), unlike the -200. The planes are also new and bright, with leather seats that have adjustable headrests. wahooflyer Mar 14, 05, 3:52 am The CRJ-700 is leaps and bounds more comfortable than the -200. True, but the bathroom is still tiny! liveon777 Mar 14, 05, 9:40 am [QUOTE=JAaronT]To answer your question, the exit row is a very good seat. The missing armrest makes it a bit awkward to get comfortable if you are used to relying on them. And the legroom is great, especially if you are one the increasingly lengthening flights that US is using these crummy planes for. But, ideally you have the exit row to yourself, then it's not too hard to get comfortable. JAaronT Mar 15, 05, 1:55 am True, but the bathroom is still tiny! Oh man, I have a heckuva time trying to even get the door closed. I'm far from rotund, but I have to stoop because of the curvature of the plane which causes my butt to stick out, which makes it quick difficult to get that stupid bifold door to close. It's quite a sight :p |
