Gotta Requalify

There has been a lot of questions about the new Airbucks scheme and now that we are seeing some actuals - I just thought I would share what I have seen over the past couple of months.
My qualifying year is Feb-Jan with status renewal at the end of Feb. At the end of January my Gold Elite status was renewed based on the old Status Credits calculation (as the web site stated I still needed a number of Air Bucks).
In Feb I used my last remaining Complimentary Upgrade from my old year. In March I got another 2 for the new year valid until the end of Feb 2006.
If Feb / March I have flown around the world, back home to Melbourne and then back to KL. Even though the RTW first two legs were on NZ Metal and it was an NZ issued ticket, I earned Air bucks on the Star table, not the NZ table.
Anyway - the RTW earned me 880 Airbucks and the return to KL on Singapore earned another 330 points. Total 1210. But the web site still states that I need to earn 345.00 qualifying Airpoints Dollars by 31 Jan 2006 at least 345.00 of these must be earned on Air NZ flights to requalify for Gold Elite.
At the start of Feb I needed to earn 720 to requalify. I know under the new rules that this is what I need on NZ metal and this must be how they are going to show the requalifying. It is interesting that they two numbers are now in sync. Until I fly on NZ metal - this number won't decrease at all until another NZ flight is taken.
