Hertz - Neverlost reservation question

Hi all,

I have a reservation with another company for a one-way in April LAX-PDX. I'm thinking of switching my reservation to Hertz so that I can get Neverlost.

When I ask for a minivan, a charge for Neverlost appears in the quote. When I ask for an SUV ('Explorer, Envoy or similar'), no Neverlost charge appears.

Is it that Hertz's SUVs all have Neverlost for free anyway? Or am I asking for a Neverlost rental, they quietly decide they aren't going to give me Neverlost, and when I get to the desk I'll discover that I paid extra to rent from Hertz so I could get Neverlost, and I'm not getting it?

Not all Hertz SUVs have Neverlost. And no matter what you see on the web statements - call ahead and confirm a few hours after you get the rate online. If you rely on the web pricing and confirmation for Neverlost, you're taking a risk.

At the same time, on the few occasions when I've reserved Neverlost via the web and printed out a confirmation page saying "Neverlost navigation equipment has been confirmed" yet arrived to find a non-Neverlost vehicle, I've been successful in complaining and getting a Neverlost vehicle.

And if they can't provide you with one, they should compensate you with a $50 coupon for your next rental. Happened to me in SEA.
