US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Need 20K US points for LH award: any ideas?

Any clever ideas for getting a THIRD FC award or upgrade seat on LH from JFK-FRA roundtrip in May? I'm a CP who is already holding two award FC seats for me and my daughter. Now my niece (who's had a tough year) would like to join us.

Do I really have make her ride in steerage? Or is there ANY way--other than paying almost $9,000--to get her into FC or C class?

Having used $200,000 USAIR miles for the awards for me and my daughter, I only have about 80,000 left--though I'll have more by the time of departure. I also have LOTS of AMEX MR (but I don't think I can transfer them to Lufthansa, can I?), as well as lots of Starwood points.

Any ideas? Any way to upgrade on lesser fares? Should I rob a bank?

And yes, I tried to do a search first--but the search option told me I "don't have access"--heaven knows why, for as far as I know, I'm a member in good (and long-term) standing!

I'm going to move this to the USAir forum, since it appears that you need 20K additional US points to get the award of interest to you. If, in fact, you want this in the LH forum, ask the US mod to move it onward.

If you don't already hold the BoA Visa Signature card, apply for or upgrade to it for 15,000 miles.

I am not quite sure about this, but I've seen Lufthansa upgrade certs on ebay at very reasonable prices if you are willing to pay for a coach ticket.
