First off, welcome to FlyerTalk. Second off, I would highly, highly recommend that you spend some time reading through the MR forum to gather some information before you submit a post with such a generic question. There are many people here who are happy to assist, but you have to put some energy into doing some research yourself. You can't rely on us for everything.

I'm just tryingn to figure out how everyone keeps finding all of these deals. For instance a deal about cheap fares to Charlotte came up and then by the time I discvored it they were gone. Also I bought a ticket from Seattle to London for 400$ a few weeks ago through a post I saw.

Are there there other websites I should be looking it? Thanks for the help, and by my posts you can tell I'm new.

Travelocity Dream Maps are a good place to start. Have you bookmarked those?

For most "beginners", the best way to find AA mileage run opportunities is to read FT's Mileage Run forum! I am not being flippant, but totally serious. This is the central place to hear about them. After you have read and understand the stickies at the top of the forum, it is possible that you will actually uncover some great deals on AA fares as you begin to use the various tools mentioned there. But, by and large, AA mileage run opportunities don't happen all that often, and the most experienced usually find them first, then post them here.

Dream Maps is a good place to look (I look at Dream Maps almost every day, all regions). AA.com is also a good way to find the fare specials they are highlighting. Otherwise, most of the really great fares are found when someone is pricing fares anyway, and sees a glistening diamond among the heap of fares otherwise being offered.

Happy hunting!

I've seen people do this, and I've done this myself a few times....just go to the "fare sales" section of the AA.com site, type in your home aiport code in the "from" field and leave the "to" field blank. Then see what comes up, paying attention to sale fares to cities from which you can catch another sale fare and/or a city from which you can catch a transcon, etc.
