MilesBuzz! - Can I get a better exchange rate?

Hi,

I'm trying to get Sharper Image Gift Certificates using only miles and points.

Points.com is giving me the rate of 21,104 AA Miles = $150 gift cert. at giftcertificates.com, which can be exchanged for $150 Sharper Image cert.

Is this a good deal? If not, does anyone know how I can get a better rate?

I have the following:

62K AA Miles
17K NWA Miles
25K Starwood Points
6K HiltonHonors Points

Have you looked at the SPAM forum? I think these types of programs actually get discussed over there, being that you're not getting any responses here.

I don't collect AA miles, but I'm presuming they they trade for flights in roughly the same way that my Northwest WorldPerks miles do. If that is the case, then no, $150 gift certificate for 20K+ miles is not a good deal at all. In fact, the value of 20K in my mental accounting is 1.5 cents each -- more than double what you would be getting with this transaction.
