America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - HP FT Game: Sign Name in On-Board Magazine

I was browsing the UA forum the other day and came upon this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=326864).

Basically, folks from FT flying UA sign a certain page in the on-board magazine with their FT nickname, flight number, origin & destination, seat assignment and finallywww.flyertalk.com. This has lead to a large amount of 'sightings' by other UA FTers who come along later.

What do you think about starting this for America West? I suggest signing the page where Doug Parker writes his monthly column.

If nothing else, it'd spread the word about Flyer Talk and perhaps bolster the HP FT community.

I'll start doing this on my upcoming flights.

Edited to add: Sometimes the letter isn't from Parker, so whoever the executive letter is from, let's all sign there. (On the English version. ;) )

I don't know, perhaps whoever gets their sig spotted first? Although, I suspect we'd need a lot more players to hit the saturation needed to have the results the folks over at UA get.

Anyway, I'd like to write about the first casualty of this game. This morning as we approached cruising altitude in an A320 out of PHX I opened my magazine to sign it, and as I was about to start recording... BOOM! My pen exploded, and black ink all over Parker's face, the text on the page, and my hands. :mad:

Thankfully, the flight attendant didn't seem to notice the black stains all over my hands as I handed my drink glass back.

So, to any flyertalker in 1A who finds a massive black smudge across the entire column on both pages, it was not some kind of statement against HP, but rather, my attempt at a signature. :D

Yeah, I think we'll need a lot more people to take part in this. By the time enough magazines get signed, they'll be replaced with the next months issue.

I am game too... I usually fly the Ontario-Phx route, so I think I may see my magazine again before anyone else does... hhaha But will start Thursday!
