There's a PC Code for Amtrak Guest Rewards - 960050 - that will give you 500 bonus points (AGR points) and an upgrade if available. According to the AGR site:

***

To make your reservation online, click here. If you prefer, visit Hertz, call your Travel Professional or Hertz directly at 1-800-654-2210 in the U.S. or 1-800-263-0600 in Canada. At time of reservation, you must provide the following:

Your Amtrak Guest Rewards member number
Discount number CDP 1229959
PC #960050 for 500 bonus points and a free upgrade
As always, when you use your Amtrak Guest Rewards discount number, CDP 1229959, along with your Amtrak Guest Rewards member number, you receive these great benefits:

50 points per day with qualifying rentals
5% discount off of U.S. Leisure Rates
10% discount on Canadian Leisure Rates
And much, much more...

***

If I use this PC, but not the CDP, will I still get the 500 AGR points & the upgrade? Or do I actually have to use the AGR CDP? Any experience on this? I wouldn't mind getting my AGR account up to a usuable level.

Thanks in advance!

Depends on the PC. Some PCs require a particular CDP -- in fact, I think most do. You can try to book online with your (or other) CDP and this PC and see if it works, I doubt it will.

This is why I often have to pass on good entertainment rate offers and coupons, since I like to use my company CDP to get included LDW (but am glad that the offers on Hertz's website are usually pretty good and go with any CDP).

Well, I've been able to reserve the car with this coupon - there were no errors. But the only reason I'm using this PC (versus the 150 bonus ZE1 points code - it's a one-day rental) is to get the 500 AGR points. I don't think it'd be a problem, but I was hoping to hear if anyone had any experience with this.
