I came across this listing while looking for something else online today - I've used Gevalia in college (I used to get a new coffee machine through them every year), so I know they're legit & I know that the cancellation process is easy.

***

How the Program Works:

You will be sent two 1/2 lb. packages of the type(s) you have indicated with the understanding that you will continue to receive additional shipments of Gevalia coffee (four 1/2 lb. packages) approximately every six weeks, plus a special holiday shipment.

Prices vary, and you will be billed only $5.55-$7.25 for Regular and $6.25-$7.45 for Decaffeinated per 1/2 lb. package of the type(s) you choose, plus an added shipping and handling charge. Coffee prices are subject to change.

This arrangement may be canceled at any time after receiving your introductory shipment without obligation to accept further shipments. You may change the quantities and types of coffee you receive at any time, as well as the frequency of your shipments. The free gift is yours to keep regardless of your decision.

Here's a listing of their current offers:

Genvalia used to be one of the biggest (legit company) spammers on the planet. I do not know if they still are.

For that reason, I have never considered giving them a dime.

I'm sure they still are. The way I saw it when I was in college (and back when I used to need coffee), for 10 bucks, I'd get a pound of good coffee & a new coffee machine every year. If you sign up for any of these offers, I would recommend making sure you use a junk e-mail account (because it wouldn't surprise me if they sold your info considering their marketing strategies)

I have done this Gevalia thing in the past - and I agree with bhatnasx... The true value in this is that you get a useful appliance and a pound of coffee for less than the normal price of the appliance.

Gevalia coffee is only so-so, despite the irrational ravings of Swedish amped up looneys.

Best plan... is to do this offer, cancel ASAP once the appliance is received, and do a Mileage Run to SJO where you can buy some outstanding coffee in the local markets for about $4.50 a kilo. ^

I just did this again... A pound of coffee, a new Brewer, 2 Gevalia mugs for $10 - and the time it takes to cancel by phone...

I agree... done exactly the same thing 3 or 4 times. 10 bucks for some coffee and the coffeemaker or carafe, then an easy cancel.

I wonder what % stay on for the coffee, because they certainly don't make money off the people like me.

Being Swedish, I agree that Gevalia coffe is only average. Real Swedes drink Zoega's Skanerost :)

Real Swedes drink nasty coffee, with the consistancy of sour mud!
They claim to hate drugs and drug users, then slam caffene, nicotine and alcohol with reckless abandon.

Signed up for the Gevalia deal thru MyPoints last week because I needed a new coffee maker. Got an email two days later that they were OUT of coffee makers. The factory can't keep up. I had the option of canceling or waiting. We decided to wait. Never tried their coffee.

No, we drink coffee with the consistancy of coffee, not water like American "coffee" :)

Okay, where did that come from? I wonder what that has to do with the topic

For my customers, I don't give away coffee makers. That would cost me too much. I go to the store and get keychains, calendars and postcards, all on sale mind you. Then I just slip them in the package as a thank you. It's a lot like Crackerjacks; you just never know what you will get. Every once in a while, I slip in a local newspaper or real estate booklet :)

Gevalia has great coffee. I have weird taste in coffee and I am used to starbucks so trying this was new to me, but I gave it 3 shipments(That I customized where I get like 2 boxes every 3 months) and my taste buds started to love it. This coffeemaker is sweet, I also got a Stainless Steel travler tumbler and 2 boxes of awsome coffee for only $5. Like alot of ppl, I can afford like 20 - 25 bucks every 3 months, not very expensive. The thing is that once you cancel, there is no getting a free coffeemaker every year cause once you cancel you have to wait 2 years before you are able to sign up for that same program and recieve the coffeemaker. They have other programs that offer coffee's that you can't get in the regular program. The only reason why they give out free coffeemakers is because where they make it themselves, it only costs like 2 bucks to make them. If you have a problem with your coffeemaker and it has been less than a year since ya got it, they help fix the problem. If you get a coffee that ya don't like and ya have another box if it, all ya gotta do is ship it back for a credit. 100% SATISFACTION GAURENTEED =D

Can't go wrong with gevalia as long as you change the shipping rate(time between shipments) and the Gevalia staff are really nice and polite, I love talking to them. They don't really spam since the lawsuit years back. If you don't like recieving offers from phone or e-mail, give em a call and they can take ya off the e-mailing list and the phone offer list(where they call ya about special offers)

This cracks me up. I have a friend in ARN and used to dread her coffee! The only country where I have to use milk.

I'm still using the coffee maker I got from them years ago. It was indeed easy to do & easy to cancel. I had to toss the coffee, though -- found it too icky to bother drinking when far better stuff was available. But for the coffee maker, it was a good deal.

I have a friend that works for Gevalia and apparently (after I asked) there are ALOT of ppl that stay. There are even celeb's that get the coffee.^

I used to work with someone who had it shipped to the office. Not a bad deal for there-the coffee that was otherwise available was completely undrinkable and the packages were compact and kept well. Saved him tons of time and $$ from having to buy coffee at Sbux or wherever. Course, he did lose out on the escape from the office excuse. ;) Plus, it meant that he could occasionally give away a package to dept. admins-always a good thing to stay on the admin's good side ;)

No, they really did spam. As in I got email from them without opt-ing in.

For me, that's enough to treat any company like a pariah or worse.
